Programmable AC power supplies, regenerative grid emulators, and frequency converters are terms that we use to refer to instrumentation that simulate the electrical mains. TTMS currently has a wide assortment and seven types of suppliers to provide you with the right solution for your application.
They range from simple AC power supplies for the simulation of a clean net at 50 and 60 Hz, to the more extensive power supplies with frequencies up to 5 kHz, and the extensive possibilities for the creation of defined mains pollution, according to IEC 61000 standards. Examples of these are more extreme net simulations with different types of phase angles between the phases, and L-L voltages up to 600Vrms. All of this with power up to 1.2MVA+.
We distinguished between single phase and three-phase alternating current power supplies to simplify the selection. In addition, we carry AC power supplies with an arbitrary waveform generator to create voltage dips, and harmonic and inter-harmonic distortions.
Regenerative AC power supplies are particularly suitable for AC motors and solar inverter testing, where the load can supply energy back to the net.
We also offer several solutions for portable applications.
"The ABB Power Grids Jumet organisation is an innovative development and production facility of ABB that manufactures active filters and battery energy storage systems to support a stable grid. To test these systems we have acquired two Cinergia GE/EL +120kVA eplus units capable of doing grid emulation (AC + DC), operating as an electronic load (AC +DC) and being a battery emulator. We have experienced very good support from TTMS in obtaining these two Cinergia units. This included organising an on-site demonstration and supplying loan systems prior to the delivery of our final systems. This way we could start testing as early as possible. TTMS also organised training for the operators from the original manufacturer.
