The Itech IT7800E is an extension in Itech’s 7800 series. This powerful, programmable AC/DC power supply is designed for applications where high power and precise current and voltage settings are essential. The model offers up to 21 kVA per unit, but can be expanded up to + 1 MVA via a master-slave parallel arrangement. This flexibility makes the IT7800E ideal for complex tests and investigations in industries such as power generation, aerospace, medical equipment, and industrial electronics.

Compact design with advanced SiC technology

Using Silicon Carbide (SiC) technology, the IT7800E has a high power density and fits into a compact 3U enclosure. The device offers voltage ranges up to 350V L-N (700VL-L in split phase mode) and frequency settings from 16 Hz to 2400 Hz. This with an accuracy of ±0.05% and stability of less than 0.1%. The intuitive LCD touch screen makes operation simple and straightforward, allowing users to quickly adjust settings and start tests.

Comprehensive output modes and signal creation.

The IT7800E can provide both AC and DC output, as well as combined AC+DC and DC+AC output. This enables the creation of complex signal shapes, such as AC output with DC bias, useful for tests requiring specific frequency settings and voltage variations. For even greater flexibility, the power supply supports single-phase, three-phase and split-phase configurations. In split-phase mode (reverse-phase mode), the output voltage doubles to 700V, while the system still has two-thirds of its maximum power available. Ideal for high-voltage testing without external transformers.

Advanced harmonic analysis and simulation

The IT7800E series features harmonic analysis and simulation functions up to the 50th harmonic. This makes the device suitable for measuring and analyzing harmonics, which is important for identifying faults or interferences in systems. The built-in arbitrary waveform generator supports IEC-compliant testing in accordance with industry standards, including IEC 61000-4-11, 4-13 and 4-14.

Inrush current testing and programmable waveforms.

The power supply supports inrush current testing with a high crest factor of up to 6, essential for measuring inrush currents. Users can set different waveforms such as sine, triangle, square and sawtooth waves and even import custom wave functions via CSV files. This gives extensive options for flexibility in testing and simulations.

Software and communication options

The unit comes standard with a Web browser and also comes standard with software to allow settings to be changed even remotely. With support for interfaces such as USB, LAN, CAN and Digital I/O, and optional GP-IB and RS232, the power supply is easy to integrate into various test setups and data acquisition systems using the simple SCPI command set.
