With the IT7800 series, Itech is launching a high power programmable AC/DC power supply with exceptionally broad functionality. The IT7800 is available in 3kVA, 5kVA, 6kVA, 9kVA, 12kVA and 15kVA versions, expandable up to 960kVA. A special feature is the high power density of 15kVA in a compact housing of only 3U rack height. The models from 6kVA upwards are equipped with both single-phase and three-phase outputs.
With the multi-channel function of the IT7800, these three phases can be controlled completely independently of each other. The voltage of each phase is adjustable up to 350V L-N and the frequency from 16Hz – 2400Hz. The phases are also individually adjustable from 0° – 360°, which makes it possible to simulate an unbalanced network.
With the reverse phase function, the output voltage can be increased to as much as 700V.
The IT7800 multifunctional power supply offers the user a choice of no less than four different output modes, namely AC , DC, AC + DC and DC + AC. It is therefore possible to simulate both an AC grid and a DC grid. But also an AC grid with a DC offset. It is even possible to simulate a DC grid with an AC ripple.
With the STEP, LIST and PULSE modes, the IT7800 can reproduce any conceivable waveform or pattern. These can be stored step by step and performed in sequences with the IT7800. All possible grid distortions and events can be applied to the waveforms. These include spikes, dips, interrupts, sags and surges.
If testing is required according to IEC EMC standards or Aerospace Defence standards, the IT7800 is an ideal partner. To save the user time, the power supply is equipped with pre-programmed routine tests for the IEC61000-4-11,13,14,17 and 28 standards.
As the output impedance of the IT7800 is adjustable, the IEC61000-3-3 flicker standard can also be verified. The aviation and military standards available are ABD0100.1.8, ABD A350, ABD AMD24, Boeing 787, DO160, MIL-STD-704 and MIL-STD-1399-300B.
The IT7800 also features a harmonic generator and analyzer. Up to the 50th harmonic can be simulated and measured. For a thorough graphical analysis of the waveforms, the user can choose between a detailed oscilloscope display and a vector diagram. When testing capacitive, inductive or resistive loads, any phase shifts in voltage and current are clearly displayed. A built-in AC power meter measures and records all important parameters such as Crest Factor, power factor, active, reactive and apparent power. With the trend analysis function, these measured values can be graphically displayed in detail for real-time observation.
The Itech IT7800 power simulator has a clear and user-friendly user interface, operated via a large high-resolution graphic display. With the STEP, LIST and PULSE modes, any waveform or pattern can be reproduced. These can be stored and sequenced with the IT7800 according to the ISO1540:2006 standard and MIL-STD-704/GJB norm. All possible grid distortions and events can be applied to the waveforms. These include spikes, dips, interrupts, sags and surges.
The Itech IT7800 AC power supply has a clear and user-friendly user interface, operated via a large high-resolution touch display or with PC software. The common communication ports such as USB, LAN, CAN and Digital I/O are standard. GPIB and RS232 are also available as options.

"The ABB Power Grids Jumet organisation is an innovative development and production facility of ABB that manufactures active filters and battery energy storage systems to support a stable grid.
