Four-quadrant power supplies
Four quadrant power supplies (also known as bipolar power supplies) are capable of both delivering current (supply) and absorbing current (load). And that at both positive and negative voltage. Four quadrant power supplies are often used as grid emulator or power in the loop amplifier (PHIL).
Again, TTMS has a wide choice of models from multiple manufacturers. The small models are also often combined with a particularly accurate metering function. Power ratings range from 20W to 9600W. Voltages from ±6V to ±1000V and currents from ± fA to 800A. And a frequency range of up to a 150kHz.
The applications are many. Think of testing button cell batteries, LEDs, inductive and capacitive components, specific semiconductors etc.
