IECO Bipolar Magnet Power Supplies are designed for demanding applications that require high power and four-quadrant operation. These amplifiers are used worldwide to drive pulse magnets for scientific experiments and industrial processes that require precise and dynamic current control. Thanks to their robust architecture and modular design, IECO power supplies offer maximum flexibility and scalability without compromising reliability or performance.
Power Range and Configuration
The IECO Bipolar MPS systems support output currents ranging from ±10 to ±2200 amperes and voltages from ±50 to ±750 volts. For applications with split-coil configurations, a voltage range up to ±1500 volts is possible. The output power ranges from 5 kW to 300 kW, depending on the selected configuration. The amplifiers operate in four-quadrant mode, meaning they can both supply and draw positive and negative current and voltage—essential for applications involving energy feedback or dynamic loads.
The amplifiers are based on a modular architecture that can be tailored to the exact requirements of the application. This prevents oversizing and saves costs, while maintaining reliability. The bandwidth extends up to 10 kHz, enabling fast response and precise control. Current stability ranges from 10 ppm to 100 ppm, depending on the configuration and load. The interface is analog with a ±10 V input signal, suitable for external control via standard industrial controllers or Hardware-in-the-Loop control. Various optional signals are available for monitoring and integration, including current and voltage feedback, status outputs, and interlock capabilities.
Load Characteristics and Power Management
IECO Bipolar MPS systems support a wide range of loads, from microhenry to full henry values. Multiple coils can be driven in parallel, which is ideal for complex magnetic systems. Power management options are available, such as capacitor banks and crowbar protection, which provide protection against overvoltage and uncontrolled discharges.
