The IECO PX Series is designed for applications where absolute precision, stability, and reproducibility are essential. These high-performance unipolar and bipolar power supplies deliver a stability of 10 ppm, even during full 4-quadrant operation. Thanks to their modular architecture, systems can be configured from 250 A to 3000 A, with power ranges from 15 kW to 300 kW, making the PX Series suitable for both compact laboratory setups and large-scale industrial installations.
The power supplies are designed for a wide range of magnetic and inductive loads. Due to the chosen topology, no external polarity switching is required in bipolar mode, allowing the power supply to pass through zero completely smoothly. This makes the PX Series particularly suitable for applications such as beam control, medical imaging, scientific experiments, and industrial magnet control.
Outstanding performance and precise control
The PX Series combines high bandwidth, low noise, and exceptional linearity. With a bandwidth exceeding 10 kHz, an effective switching frequency above 180 kHz, and a noise level as low as 200 µArms, even the most sensitive magnetic systems can be precisely controlled. The maximum output voltage is ±350 V, while the DC offset current remains below 10 mA and can be fully compensated.
The IECO PX Series is designed for applications where absolute precision, stability, and reproducibility are essential. These high-quality unipolar and bipolar
The power supply offers very low harmonic distortion, with a THD of less than 0.25% at 1 kHz, which contributes to an extremely stable and predictable magnetic field build-up. These characteristics make the PX Series one of the most accurate magnet power supplies in its class. Tuning, configuration, and diagnostics are performed via a PC-based software package that communicates with the power supply via mini-USB. This allows users to optimize the dynamic response for specific loads, which is essential when driving large or complex magnets.
The PX Series includes a comprehensive suite of safety features to protect both the power supply and the connected magnets. The power supply automatically shuts down in the event of overcurrent, overvoltage, overtemperature, overload, low DC input voltage, internal voltage deviations, IGBT failures, or software errors. This comprehensive fault detection makes the PX Series suitable for critical applications where safety and continuity are paramount.
The power supplies are designed for industrial applications with reliability and long-term operation as key priorities. The standard configuration uses air cooling with front-in and rear-out airflow, but for environments where heat dissipation must be minimal, an optional water-cooled zero-heat-load solution is available.
Applications in Demanding Industries
The PX Series is used worldwide in sectors where precision and stability are critical. In medical systems such as MRI and proton therapy systems, the power supplies ensure precise magnetic field control. In scientific research facilities, they are used for beam guidance, synchrotrons, and experimental setups where field stability at the ppm level is required. In industrial applications as well, such as magnetic process control and test setups for power electronics, the PX Series offers a reliable and reproducible power source.
The IECO PX Series offers a unique combination of precision, stability, and power. With 10 ppm stability, high bandwidth, low noise, and a fully configurable dynamic response, this series is ideal for the most demanding magnetic applications. Its modular design, robust protection, and scalability up to 300 kW make the PX Series a future-proof choice for both scientific and industrial users.
