The IET 7660 Precision LCR Meter is designed for highly accurate impedance measurements and offers a frequency range from 10 Hz to 2 MHz. The instrument is the direct successor to the QuadTech 7600 and IET 7600 Plus, retaining a familiar user interface and identical SCPI command set. This allows existing test programmes to be used without modification.
Accuracy and resolution
With a basic accuracy of 0.05% and a resolution of seven digits, the 7660 delivers reliable and reproducible results. The device can simultaneously measure and display two of the fourteen available parameters, including induction, capacitance, resistance, phase angle and loss factor. The results are clearly displayed on the large 7-inch TFT colour display, in both graphical and tabular form.
Flexible testing options
The 7660 offers extensive options for automated test sequences. Up to six different tests can be performed in a single cycle, each with its own settings and limits. In addition, the device supports swept measurements, which make it easy to investigate how components respond to variations in frequency, voltage or current. This is done quickly and accurately, without complex programming.
Storage and connectivity
Test settings and measurement data can be stored in the internal memory or on a standard USB stick. Measurement results are written in CSV format, making them immediately usable for further analysis. The 7660 has a wide range of interfaces, including USB, RS-232, GPIB, LAN and a handler interface, making integration into existing test environments easy.
Ease of use and safety
The instrument has been designed with the user in mind. The menu-driven system and clear display ensure intuitive operation. For accurate and consistent results, an automatic calibration procedure is built in, which can be easily performed using the SI-traceable calibration kit. Safety is paramount: the 7660 features protection against charged capacitors and complies with international standards for electrical safety and EMC. Various accessories are available for specific applications, including Kelvin test leads, chip component tweezers, SMD test fixtures and an SI-traceable calibration kit. Extender cables, a rackmount kit and a dielectric cell are also available.
