Vitrek 98x Series Teraohm meter

The new 98x series of Tera ohm meters from Vitrek has been specially developed for those applications where the insulation resistance must be measured at relatively high voltages. Think of the batteries in the current electric vehicles and also the insulation of solar panels.

The 981i offers an output voltage range up to 6.5 kV and the 983i even has a maximum output voltage of 11 kV. The 98x series is built on the same DSP technology that Vitrek has established as a leader in hipot test systems; the 95x series.

The 98x devices feature a unique combination of performance features, including: 

  • Multi-dwell Functionality (multiple steps without returning to zero between steps).
  • High-speed testing (with dwell times up to 100 ms).
  • Pico-Amp Leakage measurement (with stable and accurate 50 Teraohm IR measurements).
  • Continuously Variable IR test voltage (adjustable over the full output range of the instrument).
  • Multi-mode IR (three test modes: stop on time, stop on pass, stop on fail).
  • Capacitance test modes (critical for solar panels, cable harnesses and other capacitive loads).

Using the Vitrek 964i high-voltage scanners, up to 64 test points can be measured automatically.
