In addition, there is the challenge of measuring electrical power & energy at high voltages and currents with a low power factor. This is becoming increasingly important, from an economic perspective, as a means to reduce costs in a continuously growing industrial economy. Today, transformer buyers will impose economic penalties on a transformer manufacturer when losses are incurred in load and no-load conditions. In order to keep these losses as low as possible, the manufacturer must be able to measure these losses as accurately as possible.
Measurement International uses “State of the Art” proven “two-stage-comparator” technology: the Acculoss™ Series transformer loss measurement system. This system is designed to meet the current needs of transformer manufacturers to achieve the most accurate transformer loss measurement system possible.
Acculoss™ can be used to test small, medium and large power transformers as well as motors and turbines up to 400Hz.
The system is also ideal for R&D institutions and can also be used for the losses of single and 3-phase reactors.
"The ABB Power Grids Jumet organisation is an innovative development and production facility of ABB that manufactures active filters and battery energy storage systems to support a stable grid. To test these systems we have acquired two Cinergia GE/EL +120kVA eplus units capable of doing grid emulation (AC + DC), operating as an electronic load (AC +DC) and being a battery emulator.
