Itech expands its range of solar cell and solar panel simulators with the IT-N2100 series of DC power supplies developed specifically for testing microinverters. The IT-N2100 series can simulate the output characteristic (IV curve) of all types of solar panels under the most diverse conditions. Factors that affect the operation of a solar cell such as temperature, aging, light and shade profiles are also easily set.
The IT-N2100 series consists of four models
Two dc voltages (80 and 150V) and two powers (800W and 1500W). This covers most of the low power applications. For smaller powers (solar cells) Itech also has the IT2800 series and for powers up to 800W there is the M3600 series. For higher power applications, there are the M3900 series and the IT-6000 series with powers up to >1MW.
Due to the high response speed of this unit, fast Maximim Power Point Trackers can also be tested. The low noise on the output current also ensures a very accurate measurement with minimal impact on the correct operation of the MPPT functionality.
Applications of the IT-N2100
A common application of the IT-N2100 is therefore the testing of micro-inverters and power optimizers. These are widely used nowadays to obtain better efficiency in PV setups with minimum conversion losses. With the built-in software, different dynamic test curves can be used according to SANDIA, EN50530 and Chinese standards such as NB/T32004, CGC/GF004 and CGC/GF035, simulating multiple solar panels. All data is displayed in real time, stored and can be exported to a test report.
Full automation is possible with the included software and control via LAN or USB interface. The N2100 also features both front and rear connections.
Of course, this solar cell/solar panel simulator also provides protection for your Device Under Test using protection for overvoltage, current, power and temperature.
