Itech IT-M3140 programmable DC power supply

Itech’s IT-M3140 series are available in power ratings of 1,850W and 3,000W. To accommodate these powers, the compact enclosure stands out as only 2U half rack. These programmable DC power supplies are available in different voltage ranges from 0 to 30V, 80V, 150V, 300V, 600V, 1000V and 1200V. This makes the IT-M3140 series a very complete series suitable for the most diverse applications in R&D labs, production environments and automated test systems.

The IT-M3140 delivers an accurate and reliable DC voltage. In doing so, it maintains high output stability even when the mains voltage fluctuates or the load changes. Up to 10x more stable than the average standard power supply, the IT-M3140 series is designed for applications requiring high power stability, such as communication modules and semiconductors. The IT-M3140 series boasts a fast response time of less than 1ms.

Functionality

With the IT-M3140’s LIST function, up to 100 voltage levels can be programmed with an adjustable time duration per step (0.001s – 3600s). The rise and fall times are also adjustable. The LIST function is a useful tool for simulating DC signals with voltage spikes or short voltage dips. To eliminate current overshoot, the IT-M3140 has a Constant Current priority function. In turn, with the Constant Voltage priority function, faster voltage rise times can be realized.

Furthermore, this ITECH is also equipped with the already known powerflex range. This is a larger and more flexible current range in which the IT-M3140 can be used. For example, the IT-M3142 is an 80V 3000W power supply, but can deliver currents up to 80A. This of course within the 3000W power range.

Safe testing

To further improve reliability and safety during testing, the IT-M3140 series offers no less than nine safety functions. Besides the traditional over/under voltage, over/under current, overpower and temperature protection, the power supply is equipped with the additional Fold back, Inhibit and Sense Reverse protection. The Fold back protection is mainly used to protect sensitive test objects from voltage and current surges.

The Inhibit and Sense Reverse protection will disable the output of the IT-M3140 if the test object is connected and driven incorrectly, making the test safer and more reliable.

The IT-M3140 series comes standard with the most common communication ports such as USB and LAN. Optionally, there is the possibility to integrate RS232 and analog ports or GPIB. The freely available PV3140 software provides a user-friendly power supply to be controlled, with data storage and export a simple task.
