The Dual Heatpipe Furnace combines the advantages of traditional heat pipe furnaces with a unique second furnace system. This system allows users to condition thermometers both before and after calibration in a safe and controlled manner. The second oven provides controlled heating of thermometers, minimising the risk of thermal shock and contamination. This allows thermometers to be safely returned to room temperature after calibration.

The oven uses heat tubes that ensure virtually temperature-free temperature cycling. This is essential for maintaining accuracy when working with fixed-point cells such as indium, tin, zinc, aluminium, silver and copper. The temperature uniformity is less than 10 mK along the entire length of the cell, ensuring very stable and accurate calibrations. The plateau period can be adjusted and can last up to tens of hours, depending on user needs.

The device is equipped with overtemperature protection that protects expensive equipment such as fixed-point cells and standard reference platinum thermometers (SPRTs).
