The Cinergia EL 30 AC/DC SiC-RS Series is one of Cinergia’s new 19’ models with SIC technology. This advanced regenerative electronic load is designed for both alternating current (AC) and direct current (DC) applications.

The SiC technology in the EL 30 AC/DC SiC-RS provides an increased switching frequency of up to 60 kHz, resulting in faster transients, higher performance and reduced switching losses. This makes this electronic load ideal for applications requiring fast response and precise control, such as Power Hardware-in-the-Loop (PHiL) simulations.

The EL 30 AC/DC SiC-RS is fully regenerative design, meaning that the energy absorbed is fed back to the grid with an efficiency of more than 93.5%. This lowers operational costs, reduces heat generation and contributes to a smaller carbon footprint. Thanks to regenerative technology, the device offers significant energy savings and simplifies thermal management.

Versatile functionalities

This electronic load can be configured as:

> AC load: For network simulations and testing with non-linear loads.
> DC bidirectional source: For battery cycles, charging/discharging and energy storage systems.
> PV emulator: For simulation of solar panel systems.
> PHiL Power Amplifier: For real-time simulations with response times as low as 150 μs.
> Battery Emulator and Tester: For simulating and testing batteries or battery modules.

Multichannel mode allows up to three independent DC channels to be used simultaneously, each with its own configurations and limits. This increases versatility and makes the device suitable for complex test environments.

In AC load mode, you can operate in Constant Current, Constant Power and constant Impedance mode. In DC load mode, this is CV, CC, CR and CP mode. In addition, the unit can also be used as a continuously variable four-quadrant load for PHIL applications.

With a 7-inch touchscreen, the EL 30 AC/DC SiC-RS offers intuitive operation without the need for external devices. The integrated software also allows you to programme test sequences, generate load waveforms and perform data logging. The software also supports Modbus TCP/IP and offers optional integration with LabVIEW for advanced control and monitoring.

This converter offers unmatched flexibility, high efficiency and scalability, ideal for R&D, validation and End-of-Line (EoL) testing in sectors such as electromobility, energy storage, smart grids and aerospace. Thanks to the latest Silicon Carbide (SiC) technology, the EL 30 AC/DC SiC-RS Series delivers outstanding performance in demanding tests.
