Safety testers, or hipot testers, are used to carry out all your safety testing in a fast, efficient, and accurate manner. With safety testing, we mean AC / DC high voltage tests, insulation resistance, ground bound, and leakage current tests.
In addition, these devices are equipped with features such as OSC (open / short check), ARC detection (decisive test), and of course detection systems to ensure your own safety.
The high-voltage test can be performed to a voltage of 20kV.
The insulation resistance that can be measured ranges from 0.1 M to 50 G ohms.
The ground bound test that serves to testing of the quality of the earth connection, may range up to 60A. Finally, the leakage current of a device can be tested at 300V up to 20A.
Besides a single test, these devices are fully programmable, which allows for the execution of an entire sequence of various tests. Therefore, they are extremely suitable for use in R & D environment, as well as automated production environments. There are several interface options, such as RS-232 and GPIB.
These units can be equipped with a multiplexer, in case a single connection does not suffice. This allows for the connection of up to 16 channels simultaneously, so as to carry out measurements in a rapid and simple manner, using multiple terminals.
