Megawatt AC/DC Test Systems for Modern Energy and Industrial Applications
In recent decades, the electricity supply has undergone major changes and the use of electrical energy has continued to increase. Think of wind turbines, large solar panel installations and electric vehicles in the form of cars, buses and boats. This is accompanied by many new high-power installations and the necessary testing that these developments require.
Whereas in the past, test setups of approximately 1–10 kW/kVA were sufficient for many applications, in the last 5 to 10 years we have seen a rapid increase in demand for power testing equipment in the range of 100–1,000 kW/kVA. And today, test setups from 1 MW/MVA and higher are no longer an exception.
In the following chapters, we would like to give you some insight into the developments in this field and the current testing possibilities in this power segment.
