The Itech SAS1000 solar panel simulation software

The Itech SAS1000 solar panel simulation software is an option with selected fast Itech DC power supplies. The combination makes it possible to simulate different types of solar panels under varying light and temperature conditions. In this way, solar inverters can easily be tested for efficiency, maximum power point tracking (MPPT) and also shadow operation. With the built-in test standards such as the EN50530 / Sandia / NB/T32004 / CGC/GF004 / CGC/GF035 SAS module, the various tests can easily be carried out including the generation of reports.

The SAS1000 software can be combined with the Itech IT6000C and IT6000B series, IT-M3400 series, the IT-M3600 series and IT6500 series. This gives you a wide range of capabilities (up to >1MW) and voltages up to 2250V.

With this software you can also simulate shadow on an array of solar panels. It is also possible to store up to 100 I-V curves with different temperature and brightness settings in the internal memory. With the table/sequence mode you can then simulate any desired curve for a certain time. This is especially interesting for long-term testing of inverters under different climate conditions.

Next to the SAS1000 software there is also the SAS1000M version available where up to 20 power supplies can be controlled simultaneously. This makes it possible to power multiple strings of the inverter with different solar array simulation sources.

"The ABB Power Grids Jumet organisation is an innovative development and production facility of ABB that manufactures active filters and battery energy storage systems to support a stable grid. To test these systems we have acquired two Cinergia GE/EL +120kVA eplus units capable of doing grid emulation (AC + DC), operating as an electronic load (AC +DC) and being a battery emulator.
