The Itech IT-M3900C is a regenerative and compact DC power supply and yet another innovation in terms of versatility and precision. This line nicely complements Itech’s already existing bidirectional DC range and covers the range from 2kW to 12kW. This in very compact enclosures of only 1U height at 6kW and 2U height at 12kW. A wide range of voltage ranges is available from 10V to as high as 1500V which makes the IT-M3900C usable for a wide variety of applications.

The main functionality of this DC power system is to combine a bidirectional power supply with a regenerative electronic load in one enclosure. Depending on conditions, the IT-M3900C will automatically and quickly switch between power supply and load with minimum current and voltage overshoot. While serving as a load, the regenerative design ensures that 95% of the energy is recovered on the voltage grid. This means considerable savings on electricity costs and heat generation in the IT-M3900C is minimised.

The IT-M3900C regenerative power system is modular and flexibly designed to cover a wide range of applications. Multiple units can be used simultaneously or independently for multi-channel applications. If larger powers are required, the power supplies can easily be connected in parallel. In this way, a multi functional system can easily be built for both higher power applications and multi-channel applications.

Thanks to its bidirectional nature and variable output impedance, the Itech IT-M3900C can be used excellently as a battery emulator.  With the battery simulation function, different battery profiles can be created by setting the voltage, capacity, internal resistance and SOC (State of Charge). There is also the possibility of simulating solar panels. With all this functionality, the IT-M3900C together with an ITECH grid emulator can serve excellent purpose in setting up and simulating a microgrid consisting of home batteries, EV batteries and solar panels.

The IT-M3900C series is available with the usual communication interfaces and compatible with most communication protocols.

"The ABB Power Grids Jumet organisation is an innovative development and production facility of ABB that manufactures active filters and battery energy storage systems to support a stable grid. To test these systems we have acquired two Cinergia GE/EL +120kVA eplus units capable of doing grid emulation (AC + DC), operating as an electronic load (AC +DC) and being a battery emulator. We have experienced very good support from TTMS in obtaining these two Cinergia units. This included organising an on-site demonstration and supplying loan systems prior to the delivery of our final systems. This way we could start testing as early as possible. TTMS also organised training for the operators from the original manufacturer. This support allowed us to introduce the first battery energy storage systems even prior to the full delivery of the Cinergia systems."
