The IT6000B series bi-directional regenerative power supplies from Itech

Itech proves that the bi-directional DC power supply has finally matured with its new, 2 quadrant, IT6000B series. Itech’s IT6000B series bi-directional regenerative power supplies (unipolar) are actually two devices in one: both a DC power supply and a DC load. The regenerative design also contributes to considerable energy savings.

The Itech IT6000B is available in six voltage ranges starting at 80Vdc up to no less than 2,250Vdc. The series now consists of 56 models with an output of 5kW increasing to 144kW. By master / slave switching of models a maximum power of 1152kW is possible.

The IT6000B series of bi-directional regenerative power supplies features the CC, CV, CR and CP operating modes.
Furthermore, this bi-directional programmable power supply has a standard built-in arbitrary waveform generator. Each simulation with alternating test voltages can be easily programmed and then stored in the internal memory. Especially for the automotive applications, the IT6000B power supply is already equipped with built-in voltages according to DIN 40839, ISO-16750-2 and ISO21848. The IT6000B also supports the import of LIST files via the USB port on the front.

The Bi-directional concept with an adjustable internal resistance (Ri) also makes the power supply suitable as a battery emulator. And with the optional BSS2000 software you can easily simulate battery profiles. Solar Array Simulator (SAS) is also possible including MPPT. With the optional SAS software you can easily simulate solar panel arrays. In this way, testing Solar Inverters is very easy.

ABB

"The ABB Power Grids Jumet organisation is an innovative development and production facility of ABB that manufactures active filters and battery energy storage systems to support a stable grid. To test these systems we have acquired two Cinergia GE/EL +120kVA eplus units capable of doing grid emulation (AC + DC), operating as an electronic load (AC +DC) and being a battery emulator. We have experienced very good support from TTMS in obtaining these two Cinergia units. This included organising an on-site demonstration and supplying loan systems prior to the delivery of our final systems. This way we could start testing as early as possible. TTMS also organised training for the operators from the original manufacturer. This support allowed us to introduce the first battery energy storage systems even prior to the full delivery of the Cinergia systems."

“At the Energy and Environment department of the Faculty of Science, Technology and Medicine (FSTM) of the University of Luxembourg we do have different research projects related to green energy contributing to the development of eco-cities. As a long-standing partner of our research unit, TT&MS has proven that they are able to answer even the most complex questions in a professional manner. They have shown that they are always up to date with the latest technology and do not spare any effort to look at the application and even the situation on site. The exchange of ideas was always very pleasant and took place quickly. We look forward to further years of fruitful cooperation.”
