Quantum Data™, today announced an HDMI Consumer Electronic Control (CEC) Development & Compliance Test Suite for its 882CA video test instruments. CEC is a new HDMI option, which provides automatic power-on, automatic signal routing, and single-point remote control for CEC-enabled products. The new test suite helps manufacturers quickly integrate CEC into their products and perform all CEC-related tests found in the HDMI Compliance Test Specification.

The HDMI-CEC Development & Compliance Test Suite includes:

Emulated CEC Devices
Interactive Troubleshooting Environment (ITE)
Auxiliary Channel Analyzer (ACA)
Procedural Compliance Test Environment (CTE)
Test Management Environment (TME)
Test Point Adapters (TPAs)

The 882CA test instrument has three CEC devices. Manufacturers of DTVs, STBs, DVD players, A/V receivers, recording devices, and repeaters can configure these to test their product’s ability to interoperate with other CEC-enabled products.

The ITE lets developers configure their CEC devices, and send messages and faults, so that both nominal and stressful conditions can be generated.
The ACA provides monitoring and analysis of all auxiliary channels. This allows developers to view and save all DDC & CEC bus traffic – right down to the bit, block, and frame.
The ACA and ITE complement each other. The ITE can initiate specific CEC bus transactions, while the ACA monitors what goes on – so that users can quickly locate and document CEC protocol errors.
The CTE addresses CEC product compliance testing. The CTE compiles a test procedure, conducts tests, logs results, and creates a summary HTML report.
The TME is a graphical environment that houses all the tests. It runs on a PC and communicates with the 882CA over Ethernet.
TPAs connect test equipment to the product under test and provide standard loads (as needed) during CEC compliance tests.

Quantum Data worked closely with HDMI Licensing, LLC as it created the CEC Compliance Test Specification, which identifies the 882CA test instrument, TME software, and TPAs as the recommended CEC compliance test tools.

ABB

"The ABB Power Grids Jumet organisation is an innovative development and production facility of ABB that manufactures active filters and battery energy storage systems to support a stable grid. To test these systems we have acquired two Cinergia GE/EL +120kVA eplus units capable of doing grid emulation (AC + DC), operating as an electronic load (AC +DC) and being a battery emulator. We have experienced very good support from TTMS in obtaining these two Cinergia units. This included organising an on-site demonstration and supplying loan systems prior to the delivery of our final systems. This way we could start testing as early as possible. TTMS also organised training for the operators from the original manufacturer. This support allowed us to introduce the first battery energy storage systems even prior to the full delivery of the Cinergia systems."

“At the Energy and Environment department of the Faculty of Science, Technology and Medicine (FSTM) of the University of Luxembourg we do have different research projects related to green energy contributing to the development of eco-cities. As a long-standing partner of our research unit, TT&MS has proven that they are able to answer even the most complex questions in a professional manner. They have shown that they are always up to date with the latest technology and do not spare any effort to look at the application and even the situation on site. The exchange of ideas was always very pleasant and took place quickly. We look forward to further years of fruitful cooperation.”
