Magna-Power XR series DC power supplies 2.0 kW – 10.0 kW consist of up to 136 different models. This series is available with an output voltage from 0-5 Vdc to 0-10 kVdc and an output current up to 0-600 Ampere. The Magna-Power XR Series DC power supplies have a height of only 2U. For models up to 2000 Vdc, the output is insulated; this is not the case from 2 to 10 kV (positive or negative polarity should be specified).
The standard version of the XR series can be operated with two rotary switches on the front panel and contains two digital displays for voltage and current display. The so-called -C version comes with a clear front panel. Operation of the power supply and display of the actual values of current and voltage is only possible via the remote interface or the analogue I/O. All Magna-Power power supplies come with a standard RS232 interface. Optionally, a GPIB interface or LXI interface is possible. The 37-pin insulated I/O connector also allows analog control of the power supply. With the UID47 (Universal Interface Device) option, it is possible to parallel multiple units for more power. The High Speed option increases the current and slew rate programming to 60Hz for low voltage and 45Hz for small current variations respectively.
All Magna-Power power supplies are based on Current FED power processing technology. The power supply is controlled with an internal current instead of voltage. This guarantees a more reliable DC power supply for the somewhat more difficult applications with, for instance, a capacitive load.
The Magna-Power XR series DC power supplies are available in the capacities of 2kW, 4kW, 6kW, 8kW and 10kW. The voltages range is 5V, 10V, 10V, 16V, 16V, 20V, 25V, 32V, 32V, 2000V, 3000V, 4000V, 6000V, 8000V, 8000V, and 10.000V.

The XR series is part of Magna-Power’s very wide range of programmable DC power supplies. In total, there are 648 models in five different series with output voltages up to 10 kV and electric currents up to 24 kA. Parallel switching allows the output to be achieved at 2MW or more.
