Magna-Power MT series DC power supplies 100 kW – 1000 kW+

The Magna-Power MT series DC power supplies 100 kW – 1000 kW+ consist of no less than 78 different models. Power ratings allow us to achieve currents up to 24000 amperes at a voltage of 16V. The maximum voltage in this series is 6000V. In order to keep the harmonic distortion of the energy just within limits, the units of 250 kW and higher are standard equipped with a 12-pulse harmonic neutralizer. For higher power output, Magna-Power also carries additional 500 kW 24-pulse or 1000 kW 48-pulse harmonic neutralizers, specifically developed for Magna-Power’s high power DC sources.

All Magna-Power power supplies come standard with an RS232 interface. Optionally, a GPIB interface or LAN interface is possible. The 37-pin I/O connector also allows analog control and power supply readout. With the UID47 (Universal Interface Device) option, it is possible to parallel multiple units for more power.
The High Speed option increases the current and voltage programming slot rate to 45Hz for small current and 60Hz for small voltage variations.

Three different versions

The front panels of the MT series are available in three different versions. The A version is the standard version with two rotary switches for voltage and current adjustment. The two displays are used for limit settings and for displaying the actual output voltage and current. The D version is an extension of the A version with a numeric keyboard and the ability to store settings in the internal memory. The simplest is the C version with a blank front panel. This unit can only be operated as a remote unit with one of the digital interfaces or the analog control interface.

Like all other Magna-Power power supplies, the MT series of power supplies is controlled with internal current instead of voltage. This guarantees a more robust power supply. But also, for example, for the more difficult applications with a capacitive load.

Capacities of the Magna-Power MT series DC power supplies

The Magna-Power MT series DC power supplies are available in the capacities of 100kW, 150kW, 250kW, 500kW, 750kW and 1000kW.
The voltages range from 16V, 20V, 25V, 25V, 32V, 40V, 50V, 50V, 60V, 80V, 100V, 100V, 125V, 160V, 160V, 200V, 200V, 250V, 300V, 300V, 375V, 400V, 500V, 500V, 600V, 800V, 800V, 1000V, 1250V, 1500V, 2000V, 4000V, 5000V and 6000V.

By means of a parallel circuit, power of more than 2MW can be achieved.

The Magna-Power power supplies portfolio consists of a total of 648 models in five different series. These run in power from 1.5kW to 1000kW and in voltage from 5V to 10000V.

The other series are: MS series, TS series, XR series and SL series.
