This series has been replaced by the ACL series of H&H. The ZS series AC loads from H&H are both alternating current loads and direct current loads. This series consists of 21 models with a choice of two voltage ranges (10-260Vac and 10-440Vac) and 13 different capacities (from 400VA to 21kVA). The frequency range is from 40 to 700Hz. The AC load can operate in constant current mode or constant resictance (CC & CR).
Basically the AC load is a single phase electronic load. In a combination of three ZS AC loads, however, a three-phase star or delta load can also be created. This is done in a master/slave combination. Both the phase angle in relation to the other phases and the phase angle between voltage and current are adjustable. Depending on the crest factor, a partial inductive or capacitive load can be simulated in this way. It is also possible to triple the maximum power of the load to a maximum of 63kVA.
Optionally, the unit can be expanded with an RS232/USB interface, GPIB interface, LAN interface and isolated analogue for remote control of the ZSAC series of electronic loads.
Extensive software tools are available for the various tests. Software for creating arbitrary loads, creating loads including harmonic distortions, changing the phase angle and recording the measured values. And of course a Labview driver is also available.
Dynamic loading is possible by means of the built-in pulse generator. Different dynamic load profiles can also be programmed using an extensive software program. The waveform itself can also be varied. For example, there is an arbitrary function for arbitrary waveforms and the realization of harmonic distortion is also possible.
The built-in DMM gives exact values of voltage, current and phase so that these can also be processed in reports.
These signals are also available via the analog outputs.
