Chroma 6500 series 3-phase AC power supplies is end of life (EOL) and replaced by the Chroma 61500 series.

Chroma has within the 6500 series with the 6590 model a 9 kVA AC power supply, which is suitable for both 1- and 3-phase applications. Thus in the 3-phase mode 3 x 3000 VA is available. In the 1-phase mode this becomes 1 x 9 kVA. Characteristic for all 6500 series models is the use of Direct Digital Synthesis (DDS), which simulates various AC voltage forms with harmonic distortions, dips, interupts etc. where necessary. The frequency is adjustable over a range of 45-1000Hz. This at an output voltage between 0-150Vrms and 0-300Vrms.

The Chroma 6500 series 3-phase AC power supplies have a powerful measuring functionality based on a 16-bit A/D converter. This enables this series of AC power supplies to make accurate measurements of various parameters at relatively high speed, such as power meter Vrms, Irms, Ipk+,Ipk-, power frequency, crest factor, power factor, inrush current, VA, and VAR.

The series is standard equipped with a library of 30 pre-programmed waveforms such as: line conditioner, line filter, triangle wave, pulse wave, peak spike. Each waveform is made visible to the user on the display.

The 6500 series AC power supplies are suitable for manual operation or via RS232, GPIB, or an analog input.

The 6500 series consists of the following models

  • 6512, 1,200VA
  • 6520, 2,000VA
  • 6530, 3,000VA
  • 6560, 6,000VA
  • 6590, 9,000VA (1ø or 3ø)
