The Quantum Data 780E video generator / video analyser is a portable test tool for multimedia applications.
As a basis, the 780E has an HDMI 2.0 video generator input and output for both generating and analyzing HDMI 2.0 video signals.
There is also a DisplayPort 1.2 video generator and analyser input and output and an HDBaseT input and output. Through the HDMI output (600MHz clock) single link DVI can also be outputted (up to 165MHz). For audio signals there is a separate menu.

The unit is designed in a robust housing, so that you can also carry out extensive field or remote testing. Operation is easy with the 7 inch touch screen. All common formats for both TV and PC monitors are provided as standard. You can also choose from more than 30 different test images, including 3D test images. If this is not sufficient, you can also create your own test images in the form of a bitmap image. EDID, HDCP (1.4 and 2.2) and CEC testing are standard. Auto EDID is an option to test whether the source can handle this with alternating EDID. Thanks to the 780E’s large screen, the two lower lines give you a consistent view of the incoming HDMI video signals and the transmitted HDMI video signals.

There is a cable test option, which allows you to test a complete connection (including repeaters, extenders, etc.) for quality. If you want to actually (passive) look along with the I2C communication between sink and source, then the Auxillary Channel analyzer is a good option.

The 780E video generator / analyzer is part of the Quantum Data 780 series. In addition to the 780E, this consists of 4 more models:

780D HDMI 2.0, HDBaseT, VGA, HDCP2.2.
780C HDMI 1.4, 3G-SDI, HDBaseT, VGA
780BH HDMI 1.4, VGA, HDCP2.2.
780AH HDMI 1.4, VGA, HDCP2.2.

For compliance testing and protocol analysis of the HDMI, DisplayPort and SDI video signals, please refer to the 980B series.
