The Quantum Data 780C is a portable test tool for multimedia applications. As a basis, the 780C has an HDMI 1.4 video generator input and output, an HDBaseT input and output, a 3G-SDI input and output and a VGA output for RGB signals and YCbCr. Through the HDMI output (300MHz clock) single link DVI can also be outputted (up to 165MHz). There is also an audio signal generator provided.

The unit is designed in a robust housing, so that you can also carry out extensive field or remote testing. Operation is easy with the 7 inch touch screen. All common formats for both TV and PC monitors are provided as standard. You can also choose from more than 30 different test images, including 3D test images. If this is not sufficient, you can also create your own test images in the form of a bitmap image.
EDID, HDCP and CEC testing are standard. Auto EDID is an option to test whether the source can handle this with alternating EDID. Thanks to the 780C’s large screen, the two lower lines give you the same view of the HDMI video signals and the HDMI video signals transmitted.

There is a cable test option, which allows you to test a complete connection (including repeaters, extenders, etc.) for quality. If you want to actually (passive) look along with the I2C communication between sink and source, then the Auxillary Channel analyzer is a good option.

The 780C video generator / analyzer is part of the Quantum Data 780 series. In addition to the 780C it consists of 4 more models

780E HDMI 2.0, DisplayPort 1.2, HDBaseT, HDCP2.2.
780D HDMI 2.0, HDBaseT, VGA, HDCP2.2.
780BH HDMI 1.4, VGA, HDCP2.2.
780AH HDMI 1.4, VGA, HDCP2.2.

If you would like to do more extensive testing on HDMI or SDI, please refer to the 980B protocol analyzer / video generator.
