For the testing of switchgear cabinets, a number of unique functions and requirements have been defined by our customer for the required portable test cabinet. In close consultation with the end user, TT&MS has been able to develop a customer-specific solution for this.

The customer’s wish was to be able to use the test cabinet flexibly in the test lab and on the production floor. This for both the short function test and the longer endurance test, where setting up the various functions should be relatively easy for the user.

Ultimately, this customer specific test cabinet was assembled with a 6kW DC power supply from Magna-Power, a timer relay, a digital counter, fuse circuit breakers, various switching and pressure components and an extra contact rail on the back. The applied safety switch is connected to the interlock circuit of the DC power supply. With this solution the testing of the switch boxes is made possible both manually and automatically.

The picture on the right shows this customer specific portable test cabinet from TT&MS BV where a 6 kW DC power supply from Magna-Power, adjustable between 0-250Vdc, is used in a production test setup. The unit is built into a robust 19″ transport case.

ABB

"The ABB Power Grids Jumet organisation is an innovative development and production facility of ABB that manufactures active filters and battery energy storage systems to support a stable grid. To test these systems we have acquired two Cinergia GE/EL +120kVA eplus units capable of doing grid emulation (AC + DC), operating as an electronic load (AC +DC) and being a battery emulator. We have experienced very good support from TTMS in obtaining these two Cinergia units. This included organising an on-site demonstration and supplying loan systems prior to the delivery of our final systems. This way we could start testing as early as possible. TTMS also organised training for the operators from the original manufacturer. This support allowed us to introduce the first battery energy storage systems even prior to the full delivery of the Cinergia systems."
