Pacific Power’s AZX series consists of a range of high power AC, DC, AC+DC and DC+AC compatible switching power supplies. These bipolar regenerative power sources are capable of both supplying and absorbing power. Thanks to the regenerative nature, the energy absorbed is not converted into heat but delivered back to the grid, which is a clear saving on energy costs. The AZX is therefore ideally suited for testing the latest developments in the world of renewable energy. These include grid-connected products such as wind and solar inverters, energy storage systems (ESS), UPS systems and bi-directional charging systems such as Vehicle to Grid (V2G) and Vehicle to Home (V2H).

The AZX series is available in units of 30 kVA and 50kVA with the possibility of parallel switching and covering capacities up to 400 kVA. To achieve unrivalled performance at these power levels, the AZX uses a state-of-the-art Silicon Carbide (SiC) design. The models in this range offer single-phase, split-phase and three-phase output configurations, which can be configured independently of each other. All AZX models feature advanced waveform programming capabilities, making it easy to reproduce any waveform imaginable.

For defence and aerospace applications, the AZX supports a fundamental frequency range up to 1000 Hz and dual AC voltage ranges of 0~225Vac and 0~440Vac (L-N) respectively to support most avionics test standards. In DC mode, the voltage ranges are 0~335Vdc and 0~650Vdc. With the available PPSC Manager Windows 10 software, compliance testing for a wide range of avionics and commercial power standards is available without the need to write custom programs. This includes DO160, Mil-Std 704, Airbus ABD0100.1.8, ABD0100.1.8.1, AMD24D and Boeing B787, as well as the IEC 61000-4 mains immunity standards. In DC mode, the emerging test standards for electric vehicles and batteries can also be supported.

The AZX series can also be easily integrated into an automated production test station and features LAN with LXI, USB, GPIB and RS232 communication interfaces as standard. Analogue inputs and outputs are standard on all AZX models. For real-time Power Hardware in the Loop (PHIL) grid simulation applications, Pacific Power offers the ability to get started with a set of high-speed analog inputs and outputs with very fast output response.

The Pacific Power AZX bipolar power supplies are designed with an emphasis on performance, energy efficiency, ease of installation and a user-friendly operating interface. The AZX series controller offers both manual and fully programmable control. With its extensive features and modern user interface, the AZX is fully programmable and easy to use for both simple and advanced 4-quadrant AC power applications and bi-directional DC test rigs.

This Pacific Power AZX programmable AC/DC regenerative 4Q power supply is packed with functionality with performance reserved for the very best. Ready for the most challenging and diverse applications in power electronics and renewable energy developments.

ABB

"The ABB Power Grids Jumet organisation is an innovative development and production facility of ABB that manufactures active filters and battery energy storage systems to support a stable grid. To test these systems we have acquired two Cinergia GE/EL +120kVA eplus units capable of doing grid emulation (AC + DC), operating as an electronic load (AC +DC) and being a battery emulator. We have experienced very good support from TTMS in obtaining these two Cinergia units. This included organising an on-site demonstration and supplying loan systems prior to the delivery of our final systems. This way we could start testing as early as possible. TTMS also organised training for the operators from the original manufacturer. This support allowed us to introduce the first battery energy storage systems even prior to the full delivery of the Cinergia systems."

“At the Energy and Environment department of the Faculty of Science, Technology and Medicine (FSTM) of the University of Luxembourg we do have different research projects related to green energy contributing to the development of eco-cities. As a long-standing partner of our research unit, TT&MS has proven that they are able to answer even the most complex questions in a professional manner. They have shown that they are always up to date with the latest technology and do not spare any effort to look at the application and even the situation on site. The exchange of ideas was always very pleasant and took place quickly. We look forward to further years of fruitful cooperation.”
