The Pacific Power AFX series consists of a range of powerful AC, DC and AC+DC compatible switching power supplies with a power range from 6kVA to 180kVA. All AFX models feature a single-phase, split-phase and 3-phase output configuration, fully independently adjustable. The voltage range has been extended to 333VLN/576VL.

The wide frequency range of the AFX goes from 1Hz to 3000Hz and supports both 400Hz fixed frequency and the 360Hz-800Hz ‘wild’ frequency used in avionics applications.

These power supplies have been developed with an emphasis on performance, energy efficiency, ease of installation and a user-friendly operating interface. The AFX series controller offers both manual and fully programmable control. With its extensive features and modern user interface, the AFX series is easy to use for both simple and advanced AC and DC power applications and test rigs.

The advanced power conversion of the AFX-series is realised by applying digitally controlled high-frequency pulse width modulation. This results in cool, quiet and efficient operation in a compact size. The AFX series is equipped with standard analogue and digital I/O functions, a scope function for capturing voltage and current waveforms, programmable output impedance and harmonic analysis measurements. Operation from a web browser via LAN or USB is also supported via the AFX’s built-in web server.

With complete control over voltage, current, frequency, power, phase angle and harmonic distortion, no challenge is too great for the Pacific Power AFX. AC transformer compliance testing, UPS testing, DC charger testing or simulating AC and DC voltage networks and faults.

Will the test requirements change in the future and will larger capacities be required? Then existing setups can easily be expanded with additional units. This keeps the costs of new investments to a minimum.

"The ABB Power Grids Jumet organisation is an innovative development and production facility of ABB that manufactures active filters and battery energy storage systems to support a stable grid. To test these systems we have acquired two Cinergia GE/EL +120kVA eplus units capable of doing grid emulation (AC + DC), operating as an electronic load (AC +DC) and being a battery emulator. We have experienced very good support from TTMS in obtaining these two Cinergia units. This included organising an on-site demonstration and supplying loan systems prior to the delivery of our final systems. This way we could start testing as early as possible. TTMS also organised training for the operators from the original manufacturer. This support allowed us to introduce the first battery energy storage systems even prior to the full delivery of the Cinergia systems."
