The new models Chroma 61500 series AC power supplies

Simulation of the power supply system to ensure the operational efficiency of machines, controllers and server systems

The three new models Chroma 61500 series AC power supplies are ideal for simulating single- and three-phase mains voltage. To guarantee the uptime of your delivered business critical (production) machines, (computer) equipment and server power supplies, they must be tested and verified against strict legal testing standards. The immunity test includes for example voltage dips, short interruptions and variations for both AC and DC input voltage requirements. A further functionality test is to simulate the transfer of power input from the mains to the backup system via UPS or HVDC system during abnormal power conditions. This test verifies that the requirements of the down time are met.

Specifications of the new models Chroma 61500 series AC power supplies

The new Chroma 61507, 61508 and 61509 AC versions are programmable AC power supplies with lots of power in a modest housing: 5U height. The single- and three-phase power supplies from 3 kVA to 6 kVA can be tested to strict testing standards. This 61500 series is equipped with a harmonics and inter-harmonics waveform synthesizer and also suitable for Power Line Disturbance simulations.

With a maximum output voltage of 350Vac/495Vdc, these Chroma power supplies meet the test requirements for both AC and DC input voltages for server power supplies, among other things. Each phase can be loaded independently.

Furthermore, the DC output power of this Chroma series has been increased and the power supply has been optimized to further expand the testing possibilities for AC/DC server power supplies. The 61509 series is capable of providing an output frequency of up to 2000 Hz. In addition, the unit has the ability to generate pure sinusoidal output with typical distortion of less than 0.3% at 50/60 Hz. These features make the Chroma 61509 ideal for commercial, power electronics, avionics, military and standards test applications, from bench-top R&D design verification and quality assurance to mass production.

The new versions in the 61500 series of Chroma are:

  • Model 61507, 3000 VA (3x1000VA)
  • Model 61508, 4500 VA (3x1500VA)
  • Model 61509, 6000 VA (3x2000VA)
