The new 3000A AC power source from Elettrotest

Elettrotest launches the new 3000A-3V AC power source; the TCS: Test Current Supply.

The features of this first version of the new TCS family are:

  • Very low current distortion at any load
  • Very high output current stability: <0.1%
  • Continuous operation at rated amperage
  • Output frequency 10-80 Hz
  • Analog and digital interface

The output current of the TCS is guaranteed to be perfectly sinusoidal with a distortion of less than 0.1%, regardless of the load. The value of the output voltage is kept perfectly stable within 0.1% at linear load and full load. The load for the TCS may vary from a pure capacity to a pure induction.

Furthermore, this current source is able to keep the voltage stable with loads that vary over time, such as pulsating loads. And within half a period of time.


This AC power source is a suitable solution for a wide range of applications with demanding needs such as:

  • Testing of ferromagnetic materials
  • Testing of pantographs
  • Testing of switches, contactors, connectors, cables and wherever you need to manage high currents with very high precision.

"The ABB Power Grids Jumet organisation is an innovative development and production facility of ABB that manufactures active filters and battery energy storage systems to support a stable grid. To test these systems we have acquired two Cinergia GE/EL +120kVA eplus units capable of doing grid emulation (AC + DC), operating as an electronic load (AC +DC) and being a battery emulator. We have experienced very good support from TTMS in obtaining these two Cinergia units. This included organising an on-site demonstration and supplying loan systems prior to the delivery of our final systems. This way we could start testing as early as possible.
