Itech has launched a regenerative programmable AC/DC electronic load with the IT8200 series. And once again, a load with impressive specifications.

These electronic AC/DC loads are regenerative. This means that the power is not converted into heat but the energy is supplied back to the grid. This is environmentally friendly, saves on electricity costs and also on cooling costs.
The units from 6kVA upwards can operate in both single phase and three phase. In 3 phase AC mode you again have the option of both star (Y) and delta (Δ) grid configurations.

The operating modes in AC load are; Constant Current, Constant Resistance, Constant Power, Constant Apparent Power, Constant Current + Constant Resistance and RLC mode. In CE mode, multiple circuit topologies can be simulated such as single phase rectification, RLC and parallel RLC circuits. The crest factor is adjustable from 1.414 ~ 5.0. This makes this regenerative IT-8200 series particularly suitable for testing V2G, EVSE, PCS, UPS, inverters, etc. In DC mode, the Itech IT8200 supports as many as 9 operating modes, including CC, CR, CP, CV and combinations thereof.

The IT8200 series of regenerative programmable AC/DC electronic loads consists of 6 models; a 3 and 5kVA single phase unit and a
6, 9, 12 and 15kVA single or three phase unit. By connecting the 15kVA units in parallel, we can create installations up to 960kVA. The LCD touch screen with graphical user interface can be used to directly define and edit various waveforms, including random waveforms. It is an ideal choice for R&D and production testing and for application in an ATE environment.

ABB

"The ABB Power Grids Jumet organisation is an innovative development and production facility of ABB that manufactures active filters and battery energy storage systems to support a stable grid. To test these systems we have acquired two Cinergia GE/EL +120kVA eplus units capable of doing grid emulation (AC + DC), operating as an electronic load (AC +DC) and being a battery emulator. We have experienced very good support from TTMS in obtaining these two Cinergia units. This included organising an on-site demonstration and supplying loan systems prior to the delivery of our final systems. This way we could start testing as early as possible. TTMS also organised training for the operators from the original manufacturer. This support allowed us to introduce the first battery energy storage systems even prior to the full delivery of the Cinergia systems."

“At the Energy and Environment department of the Faculty of Science, Technology and Medicine (FSTM) of the University of Luxembourg we do have different research projects related to green energy contributing to the development of eco-cities. As a long-standing partner of our research unit, TT&MS has proven that they are able to answer even the most complex questions in a professional manner. They have shown that they are always up to date with the latest technology and do not spare any effort to look at the application and even the situation on site. The exchange of ideas was always very pleasant and took place quickly. We look forward to further years of fruitful cooperation.”
