ITECH proves that the Bi-directional DC power supply has finally become mature with its new, 2 quadrant, IT6000C series. A full DC power supply (source) and an electronic load (sink), with energy back supply. This regenerative design contributes to a significant energy saving and heat development.

The IT6000C is already available in 7 voltage ranges starting at 80Vdc up to 2.250Vdc. Furthermore, this bi-directional programmable power supply has a powerful functionality with excellent specifications. Striking is the seamless transition from the Source to the Sink mode. The standard built-in arbitrary waveform generator enables the versatile functionality and powerful performance of the IT6000C series to be utilized quickly and optimally. It also supports the import of LIST files via the front USB port. Remote control is possible via the standard built-in USB/CAN/LAN/digital IO communication interfaces.

The bi-directional concept with an adjustable Ri makes the ITECH 6000C suitable as a battery emulator, Solar Array Simulator and is of course extremely suitable for the simulation of bi-directional DC grids in many applications. Various adjustable parameters make it possible to simulate I-V curves and to define charge and discharge characteristics. Especially for automotive applications, the IT6000C is already equipped with built-in voltage forms according to DIN 40839, ISO-16750-2 and ISO21848.

"The ABB Power Grids Jumet organisation is an innovative development and production facility of ABB that manufactures active filters and battery energy storage systems to support a stable grid. To test these systems we have acquired two Cinergia GE/EL +120kVA eplus units capable of doing grid emulation (AC + DC), operating as an electronic load (AC +DC) and being a battery emulator.
