Itech further expands its range with a high-performance DC power supply specifically developed for testing solar cell/solar panel powered applications . The IT-N2100 series can simulate the output characteristic curve (IV curve) of all types of solar panels under a wide variety of conditions. Factors that affect the operation of a solar cell such as temperature, ageing light and shadow profiles can also be easily set.

The IT-N2100 series is available in 80V and 150V versions with outputs of 800W and 1500W. It thus covers many applications where solar panels are used to power equipment. For testing proper operation of this equipment, the IT-N2100 with fast MPPT tracking is the ideal partner. A common application is the testing of micro-inverters and power optimisers. These are widely used today to obtain a higher-performance PV setup with minimum conversion losses. This IT-N2100 simulator offers the perfect solution to also test multiple inverters synchronously. This way, a complete setup of multiple solar panels can be simulated. All data is displayed in real-time, saved and can be exported to a test report.


Another application for the IT-N2100 can be found in the space industry. Satellites and space stations are equipped with solar cells to control the propulsion drive system, sensors and telemetry on board. Testing guaranteed operation under the most extreme conditions are crucial and this is where this ITECH simulator provides the solution. To meet the highest requirements, the IT-N2100 series is equipped with various international standards to perform reliable tests in accordance with regulations. Consequently, the DC simulator features an exceptionally low noise level with a fast dynamic response time.

Furthermore, the IT-N2100 series is equipped with the most common communication ports so that this simulator can easily be used in an automatic setup. Also, the built-in simulation software makes this ITECH a very complete test tool where controlled emulation of solar cells is a requirement.

"The ABB Power Grids Jumet organisation is an innovative development and production facility of ABB that manufactures active filters and battery energy storage systems to support a stable grid. To test these systems we have acquired two Cinergia GE/EL +120kVA eplus units capable of doing grid emulation (AC + DC), operating as an electronic load (AC +DC) and being a battery emulator. We have experienced very good support from TTMS in obtaining these two Cinergia units. This included organising an on-site demonstration and supplying loan systems prior to the delivery of our final systems. This way we could start testing as early as possible. TTMS also organised training for the operators from the original manufacturer. This support allowed us to introduce the first battery energy storage systems even prior to the full delivery of the Cinergia systems."
