Chroma 61815 Regenerative AC Grid Simulators

Chroma ATE, has expanded its 61800 series Regenerative AC Grid Simulators with three new models. The Chroma 61809, Chroma 61812 and Chroma 61815 have an output of 9kVA, 12kVA and 15kVA respectively. These new models are fully regenerative, 4 quadrant, AC Power Sources with a striking power density.

All models are housed in a 19 inch housing that is only 3U high. These AC grid simulators are suitable for simulation of both single phase and three-phase AC mains voltage. A DC output is also possible. The large touch screen display gives users an intuitive user interface to quickly perform multiple settings and operations.

The 61800 series regenerative AC Grid Simulator is an AC power source designed for a wide range of electrical tests.
Particularly the bi-directional power conversion applications such as within the EV market with applications such as V2G (Vehicle to Grid), V2L (Vehicle to Load) and V2H (Vehicle to Home) but also the Solar market demand such AC grid simulators.

The Chroma 61809/61812/61815 models therefore offer a complete power test solution for these applications, for example; Electric Vehicle Supply Equipment (EVSE), and On Board Charger (OBC), which must comply with the EVSE test regulations SAE J1772 (AC Level 1, AC Level 2), China OBC test regulation QC / T 895. With the regenerative function, optional AC load function and advanced programming PLD function, these models can meet the requirements of test application related to the two-way board charger (BOBC).

For higher powers, there is the possibility to connect three units in parallel, providing 45kVA output power at only 9U height. Of course there are also the high power models such as the 61830, 61845, 61860 and 61800-105 with 30kVA, 45kVA, 60kVA and 105kVA respectively.

ABB

"The ABB Power Grids Jumet organisation is an innovative development and production facility of ABB that manufactures active filters and battery energy storage systems to support a stable grid. To test these systems we have acquired two Cinergia GE/EL +120kVA eplus units capable of doing grid emulation (AC + DC), operating as an electronic load (AC +DC) and being a battery emulator. We have experienced very good support from TTMS in obtaining these two Cinergia units. This included organising an on-site demonstration and supplying loan systems prior to the delivery of our final systems. This way we could start testing as early as possible. TTMS also organised training for the operators from the original manufacturer. This support allowed us to introduce the first battery energy storage systems even prior to the full delivery of the Cinergia systems."

“At the Energy and Environment department of the Faculty of Science, Technology and Medicine (FSTM) of the University of Luxembourg we do have different research projects related to green energy contributing to the development of eco-cities. As a long-standing partner of our research unit, TT&MS has proven that they are able to answer even the most complex questions in a professional manner. They have shown that they are always up to date with the latest technology and do not spare any effort to look at the application and even the situation on site. The exchange of ideas was always very pleasant and took place quickly. We look forward to further years of fruitful cooperation.”
