The Magna-Power DBx module turns a switched-mode power supply into a power supply with linear specifications

Magna-Power introduces the optional DBx Module for almost all series of programmable Magna-Power DC power supplies. With the DBx Module, the combined system achieves up to 10x less ripple, 24-bit read-back resolution and less than 5 ppm stability in voltage or current mode control.

The Magna-Power DBx Module, guarantees ultra-high stability, low ripple, high precision and high accuracy. Suitable for voltage ranges from 0-10 Vdc to 0-1,000 Vdc and current ranges up to 6,000 Adc. Temperature stabilised controllers and a fluxgate direct current transformer (DCCT) provide industry leading stability of less than 5 ppm in voltage or current control, temperature coefficients up to 0.05 ppm/°C and resolution up to 24-bit. Magna-Power’s product line includes as many as 500+ standard programmable DC power supplies in the power range from 1.5kW to 3,000kW+. These power supplies can be operated via the front panel, via the analogue I/O connector or via RS232. Optional digital interfaces such as LXI TCP/IP Ethernet, IEEE-488 GPIB, USB and RS-485 are available.

This DBx Module makes the DC power supplies of Magna-Power extremely suitable as magnetic power supply for High energy energetic physics (HEP), Fundamental research and medical applications. This also includes the controls of dipole, quadrupole and control magnets for particle accelerators. And certainly also in high power applications where the use of a linear power supply is not practical or desirable.
