Bi-directional battery charger B2C+ by Cinergia
Cinergia’s bi-directional battery charger B2C+ is part of a line of bi-directional regenerative power supplies and loads.
Features
The B2C+ series bi-directional battery charger is a four-quadrant DC power supply that can be used for charging and discharging batteries. The B2C+ thus works as both a DC power supply and a DC electronic load. Thanks to the bi-directional hardware, when discharging, the energy is supplied back to the mains instead of being converted entirely into heat as with most loads. The power supply/load can operate in Constant Voltage, Constant Current, Constant Power and Constant Resistance mode.
The new controller board in the B2C+ uses an oversampling technique (300kHz) on the measured current and voltage. This has increased measurement accuracy and significantly improved the dynamic behaviour compared to the older models (1msec). The new board also offers significantly more functionality:
- independent setpoints per channel
- independent configurable virtual resistor per channel (sink/source)
programmable flanks - advanced functions for battery test applications (charge/discharge/cycle) also according to IUoU
- intuitive and efficient Test Editor panel for automated tests
- amplifier function* for hardware in the loop
- separate channel control*
- user-configurable 6x analogue inputs and 6x analogue outputs
- user configurable limits and alarms for current, voltage, overcurrent, overvoltage and overload
- EEPROM where limits and alarms can be stored by an advanced user (password protected)
- intuitive and flexible software interface providing access to all new functionalities
- data logging via FTP of configurable test variables
- and an advanced LabVIEW user interface*
*optional
New are the analogue inputs where you can use the B2C+ units as amplifiers for PHIL (Power Hardware in the Loop).
The B2C+ series is available from 7.5 kVA up to 1200 kVA. The voltage runs up to 750VDC or optionally up to 800VDC. The output current generated at the mains side is sinusoidal (THDi <3%) and the Power factor is better than 0.99.
Applications
The Bidirectional Battery Charger is ideally suited for two-quadrant and four-quadrant applications: charging and discharging batteries and accumulators via Constant Current and Constant Voltage, emulating PV arrays and emulating batteries and accumulators. Parameters and profiles can be easily read in and out via a .csv file.
